Professional Accomplishments
- Conducted site inspections,
historical research and regulatory review in the course of conducting Phase I
Environmental Site Assessments. Project tasks involved evaluating the
potential for site contamination due to past or present operations.
Representative projects include due diligence on active manufacturing
facilities, closed/abandoned industrial property and shopping centers
throughout Texas.
- Conducted numerous Phase II Environmental Site Investigations, which
involved investigation of subsurface media through the installation of soil
borings and groundwater monitoring wells, soil and groundwater sampling and
data evaluation in order to establish the presence or absence and extent of
affected media on a site. Representative projects include active and inactive
industrial facilities that are currently pursuing closure under the Texas
Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) Voluntary Cleanup Program (VCP).
- Conducted surface remediation projects at industrial sites which required
immediate appropriate action in the investigation of extent, removal of
affected media, site restoration and reporting to Texas Commission on
Environmental Quality (TCEQ). Representative projects include active and
inactive industrial facilities that are currently pursuing closure under TCEQ
guidelines and redevelopment under the Brownfield Redevelopment Initiative.
- Veteran of 10 years of
service in the US Marines operating and maintaining field water treatment
plants to support field operations;
- Conducted studies on hazardous waste
management projects and provided information on treatment and containment of
hazardous waste;
- Managed the containment, proper
packaging, and storage of hazardous waste in accordance with OSHA, EPA, and
California regulations and standards;
- Prepared and submitted reports concerning
spills and recommendations for spill prevention resulting in a revised spill
prevention program;
- Assisted in developing a comprehensive
spill prevention program and reviewed plans for spill prevention resulting
in 30% reduction of emergency incidents;
- Provided technical assistance in the
event of a hazardous chemical spill to identify pollutant involved,
determined hazardous impact, and recommended corrective action;
- Utilize Code of Federal Regulations as
reference guide for enforcing regulations ensuring 500 hours of mishap free
operation;
- Answered inquiries and prepared
information for dissemination throughout the company, industry, and the
public; and
- Inspected work areas for OSHA worker
safety compliance and enforced proper safety techniques that resulted in 25%
fewer worker related injuries.
