Summary

Dr. Jones is a Project Manager with over 5 years of experience in performing industrial environmental compliance and remediation projects. Dr. Jones has experience in site investigations, computer modeling, aquifer testing, groundwater and soil sampling, and remediation design. He is also skilled in environmental regulations, industrial wastewater treatability studies, and storm water studies.

Professional Accomplishments

Compliance

Ø                  Developed Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plans for a number of industrial clients under NPDES and TPDES general permit requirements.

Ø                  Conducted inspections and evaluations of spill containment capacity and conveyance systems for Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasure (SPCC) plans for industrial clients.

Remediation

Ø                  Assisted in the design and construction a system for the in situ biodegradation of high explosives.

Ø                  Pilot tested, designed, constructed, and operated several remediation systems at leaking petroleum storage tank (LPST) sites.  Remediation technologies included groundwater pump and treat, soil vapor extraction, dual phase extraction, air sparging, and bioventing systems.

Ø                  Managed and conducted several mobile dual phase extraction (MPDE) product recovery events at several LPST sites across Texas under the TCEQ’s PST State Lead Program and Responsible Party Lead Program. Also supervised and evaluated several MDPE contractors.

Ø                  Performed an evaluation of the Pantex Perched Groundwater Pump & Treatment System (PGPTS) and associated well field.  The objective of this project was to perform a critical study of existing data and thus evaluate the effectiveness of th PGPTS and associated well field located near Zone 12 at the Pantex Plant.

Air

Ø                  Designed databases that tracked product usage and calculated plant emissions for surface coating facilities.

Ø                  Completed several TCEQ Air Permit-by-Rule applications for industrial clients as well as for on-site treatment of soil vapors at LPST sites.

Site Investigation/Closures

Ø                  Conducted installation work, quarterly field sampling, and prepared reports for several industrial facilities under TCEQ’s Voluntary Cleanup Program.

Ø                  Scheduled, managed, and conducted soil and groundwater sampling at multiple LPST sites across Texas under the TCEQ’s PST State Lead Program and Responsible Party Lead Program.

Ø                  Completed both City of Lubbock and TCEQ applications and received approval for a Municipal Settings Designation for the 5th St. & Ave J site in Lubbock, TX. (First approved MSD application in the High Plains Aquifer System)

Ø                  Completed a Site Assessment, Baseline Risk Assessment, and Corrective Measures Study under the Texas Risk Reduction Rules for multiple fuel spills at an electrical power plant.

Ø                  Performed multiple site investigations under the Texas Risk Reduction Program (TRRP). Activities included soil investigations and completing Affected Property Assessment Reports (APAR).

Water Resources

Ø                  Assisted in the completion of the Preliminary Engineering Report for improvements to the water distribution system of Sonora, Texas.  Tasks included hydraulic analysis of the existing system based on the City’s expected growth, current condition, and fire protection needs.
